Taking a stand

This must be stopped, right now & before it spreads.

It was a cancer that previously afflicted only medical staff, forcing large numbers of overseas doctors to initially take up unpaid “clinical attachments” for months at a time before they would be given paid work, even though they had passed qualifying exams (PLAB & the like). At the end, the doctors were having to pay the hospitals for the “training” involved in their working as slave labour. I know of many that spent over a year doing this, it having become almost a rite of passage.

Yes, I know that a period of familiarisation with the NHS was useful for people who had not worked in it before but there was simply nothing worth charging for. This point is so easy to prove when EU doctors who don’t know the language & were trained under a different philosophy of medicine do not appear to need this period of acclimatisation before being employed. And there is absolutely no excuse for using people trained here in this way.

And speaking of staff, I have an opinion on this but it is unprintable. Neither the BMA nor the Govt come out smelling of roses. This is bad enough.
